In 1999, WaterCar started as a personal challenge to build the world’s fastest amphibious vehicle. Early WaterCar models were purpose-built vehicles, to be very fast on both land and water. After January, 2010, when WaterCar established the Guinness amphibious speed record with their Python model, the attention turned to reliability and they began designing a vehicle to offer to the public. Fourteen years, countless successes and failures, 27 patents and untold labor hours later, its personal challenge was achieved.
After a few trips to California, where Joey was able to test drive the WaterCar, he decided to get one. Joey picked his WaterCar up and brought it back to the East Coast this year. Now Joey has the ability to go from asphalt to water in no time, making it an easy transition into Lake Norman from his driveway.
