Ford-Mach-E-1400

NASCAR’s Joey Logano and drift superstar Vaughn Gittin Jr. got up close and personal with the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400. Watch them thrash it about.

Joey Logano is the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, and currently one of the leading contenders in this year’s NASCAR season. Vaughn Gittin Jr. is a professional, and self-taught, professional drifter from Maryland, and the two of them got up close and personal with the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400, an insane one-off machine that pumps out 1,400bhp and is one of the fastest electric cars that has ever been built.

Who Are Logano And Gittin?

Logano won NASCAR’s Cup Series in 2018, after many years of trying and is perhaps something of an enigma in the sport. He fended off big challenges from Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Martin Truex Jr, the drivers called “the big three” throughout the whole of the 2018 NASCAR season. Gittin Jr. is a Formula Drift champion, with one world title to his name and 10 wins and 22 podiums, and the RTR Mustang that he builds is his own vision for the Mustang.

An Awesome E-Machine

Now onto the E-Mach 1400 itself. It stems from the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet that emerged earlier in 2020 which was also a 1400bhp monster. This is on another level, however. It has been built by Ford Performance, and Gittin Jr’s company RTR vehicles and it is essentially a demonstration car, a one-off prototype. It has a four-wheel-drive mode, with the power train designed to use both front and rear-wheel drive layouts, which means it is optimized for circuit racing, drag racing, and of course, drifting.

Logano and Gittin took it for a spin at Michigan International Speedway, and Logano was seriously impressed by the braking power of the car and how good it was at drifting. The play day was organized by Ford Performance, Logano of course driving a Ford Mustang for Team Penske in the NASCAR series. Gittin described the car as the “swiss army knife of awesome” and looking at it, its not hard to see why!
