Joey Logano turned the sixth fastest lap in the first round in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford, but ultimately wound up in 14th position at the end of the second round and will start on the outside of row seven on Sunday afternoon. The PJ1 tire compound laid down by track workers during the week made qualifying interesting with many drivers turning pace laps around the track to build up heat in the tires prior to running their laps.
